On January 6, the Ukrainian Navy conducted a historic operation, using a sea drone to deploy an FPV kamikaze drone against a Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense system near Crimea. This marked the first confirmed use of a naval drone as a "mother ship" for FPV attacks on coastal installations.

Video showed the Pantsir-S1 operational but unable to respond, highlighting vulnerabilities in its close-range defense. The attack targeted Pryvillia in occupied Kherson Oblast, approximately 70 kilometers behind Russian lines. The Navy also confirmed the destruction or damage of three Russian air defense systems within 24 hours, including two Pantsir-S1s and one Osa system.

This operation demonstrates a significant leap in Ukraine’s drone warfare tactics, enabling precision strikes deep in enemy-held territory. By integrating naval and FPV drone technologies, Ukraine can neutralize critical air defense systems, reducing threats to its aviation and missile operations.
