UPDATE:

"Russian investigators yet to establish cause of 6 massive fires which destroyed 178 buildings in one day

The Russian Emergency Ministry said on Wednesday that 178 buildings were burned down over the past day in six massive fires in Russia's Sverdlovsk region.

According to the ministry, 134 of the burned-out buildings were country houses, 32 non-residential houses, eight summer houses, two outbuildings, a shop, and the roof of an apartment building.

About 380 people and 112 pieces of equipment were engaged to extinguish the fire, the ministry said.

The cause of the fires is being established by investigators, the ministry added."

That's what all those commie countries have in common. Spoon feeding, brain washing from the early start just like some (religious or racist) sects.

Russian army commander arrested for ‘selling tank engines’

Colonel Alexander Denisov is accused of stealing seven V-92S2 engines and trading them on the black market

A Russian army officer has been arrested for allegedly stealing the engines out of T-90 battle tanks.

The Kommersant newspaper reported that Colonel Alexander Denisov is accused of stealing seven V-92S2 engines worth 20.5 million roubles (around £200,000) between November 2021 and April 2022.

Col Denisov, who is in charge of technical support for tanks in the Southern Military District, was arrested last month near Rostov in southern Russia and was charged with “stealing parts intended to be installed on tanks”.

Corruption plagues Russia, especially in its military, and has been blamed for hindering the Russian army since it launched its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Russian soldiers have been sent into battle with rusty weapons and broken radios. Tanks have regularly run out of fuel and broken down.

Western analysts have estimated that Russia has lost nearly 2,000 tanks in the 14 months of the war and the Foreign Office has said that the Russian army has had to use previously mothballed T-62 tanks, produced before 1975, as battlefield replacements.

Since they entered service in the early 1990s, T-90 tanks have become the backbone of Russia’s armoured divisions. They were designed in the Soviet Union to be simple, light and fast and are now mainly powered by the 12-cylinder V-92S2 engine which is produced at the Chelyabinsk tractor factory, close to the Ural Mountains.

Each engine weighs roughly one tonne and can generate 1,000 horsepower. When it was introduced in 2000, the V-92S2 engine was considered the best and most powerful tank engine in the Russian army.

Prosecutors at the Rostov military garrison court in southern Russia said that Col Denisov had sold the engines on the black market. In 2019, two other Russian army officers were convicted of a similar theft.

Col Denisov has pleaded not guilty.

Kyiv says it retains Bakhmut 'road of life' despite Kremlin assertions

Last road into the besieged city is still in the hands of Ukrainian forces despite continued Russian attacks

Ukraine has said that it still controls the critical “road of life” resupply route that runs west out of besieged Bakhmut.

The city is the focus of fighting in Ukraine and although the Kremlin’s Wagner mercenary group is making steady progress towards capturing the whole city, Ukrainian officials have insisted that their forces were not cut off.

“The Russians have been talking for weeks about taking control of the ‘road of life’,” said Serhiy Cherevaty, a spokesman for the Ukrainian military’s eastern sector. “But thanks to the military special forces and artillerymen, the defence forces have not allowed the Russians to cut our logistics.”

The road is the only one which runs between Bakhmut and Ukraine’s supply lines. It is exposed, potted with shell holes and lined with destroyed vehicles that didn’t survive the drive.

Orders from Kyiv

Volodymyr Zelensky has said that he ordered Ukrainian units to hold their positions in Bakhmut rather than retreat because it helped to drain Russian strength ahead of an expected major Ukrainian counteroffensive.

The stubbornness of the Ukrainian resistance has surprised observers, including the US, which believed that Ukrainian forces would be overwhelmed by the end of January.

Even so, Wagner has said it is capturing ground each day during intense street fighting, although at a high cost.

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Wagner chief, has complained that the Russian ministry of defence is deliberately withholding supplies of artillery shells from his forces to undermine their fighting potential and he said that Wagner suffered 94 casualties on Saturday because of a lack of covering fire for his advancing fighters.

“This [casualty rate] should be five times lower if we had enough shells,” he said.

On Sunday, the Russian ministry of defence said that Kremlin-affiliated forces had captured another four blocks in the western part of the city.

Another Putin sacking

It also confirmed that it had fired Col-Gen Mikhail Mizintsev as deputy defence minister. He was in charge of logistics and had only been in the position since last September.

The Kremlin did not give a reason for the sacking but analysts have said that it shows that Vladimir Putin, who has hired and fired several top generals since launching his invasion of Ukraine, was still unhappy with the performance of his army.

Col-Gen Alexei Kuzmenkov has been promoted to replace Gen Mizintsev. Since 2019, he has been head of Russia’s National Guard. Previously he had spent his military career in logistics.

"In the frame, as they claim, is the famous Russian TV propagandist Olena Malysheva. Enjoys life in the United States of America.

According to the Navalny Foundation, Malysheva and her family purchased real estate in the States for $11 million, and this clearly exceeds her financial capabilities.

The fund is convinced that she received this money for supporting the Putin regime."

"The arrested girl, who laid flowers at the monument to Lesya Ukrainets in Moscow, was threatened with an article about the "discrimination" of the Russian army.

She says those who took the flowers didn't notice the note she attached. On it was written "You can throw away these flowers, but you can't throw away anything from memory.""

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Mobilization, Protests & Sabotage Media III

"In the Irish parliament, they demand that the Russian ambassador, Yuriy Filatov, leave the territory of the country.

MPs were outraged by a disparaging comment about the death of Irish volunteer Finbar Cafferkey.

The Irishman served in the "International Legion" and died in Bakhmut.

Irish Foreign Minister Michael Martin paid tribute to him, saying he was "a man of clear principles".

Kafferka was 40 years old. He previously had combat experience in Syria, where he fought against the Islamic State. And before that, he worked on the border between Greece and Macedonia, helping migrants."

Another source:

"The Russian embassy in Ireland released a threatening statement towards Ireland after a high ranking Irish government official gave his sympathies for an Irish foreign volunteer who died in Ukraine. They blame Ireland for his death, and then make a vague threat towards Ireland saying that such statements could make them a "direct participate" in the war."
