I believe they are destroying the Ukrainian military with the least amount of civilian casualties to the point that they have to accept the independent republics and are unable to go near Crimea again.

You say: No they want to rape as many women as they can, kill all the children and elderly, destroy all civilian buildings. And then occupy the country.

Is that really Russias objective? Or are people just projecting USA Vietnam/Afghanistan war policies onto other nations?

Could you please tell your nationality and where are you living, I'm just wondering, because sometimes your sentences doesn't make sense.
For example, I am a Latvian who is working in UK, but I go back to Latvia at least 4 times a year. No hate no offense. I want to also add I do have Russian friends, not a lot, but still who think current despot power in russia is just mafia with a leader who has trained by kgb since young age, and guess what all of them have higher education. That kind of does tell you something.
