Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread

Btw did you notice that your narrative changed as well:
.....
You will change your mind tomorrow anyway
My opinion hasn't changed at all. I know English isn't your first language I would highly encourage you to read. I've noticed you tend to fill in the blanks with what you want them to be.

A fun fact for you: Russia in the near future will have lost roughly half the troops the Americans lost during the entire Vietnam War.

On a war that was supposed to last less than a week.

For justifications that aren't even close to legitimate.

Even Russians are realizing this now.

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread

Academics have explained the justification many years prior.

It was going to be less than a week only if Ukraine was allowed to sign neutral status, Russia knew there was a chance it wasn’t.

Vietnam war was easy for the us; carpet bombing villages, use actual chemical weapons, napalm bomb villages, then send US soldiers to rape the surviving women and children. Walk into some ambushes, more carpet bombings, rapes, ambush

You only lose a few soldiers a day. A few more if you count suicide as well. And that’s it.

The Vietnam army did not have nato backing it, billions of dollars, drones, antitank weapons, 8 years to prepare. Western training, awacs, satellites, cameras, civilians to hide behind and so on.

Why you would even make the comparison? You really were in the army? Or is it call of duty, be honest

No, they didn't. And quote mining some pro Russian pundit will not change that.

Wrong. This is Putin's Russia. Had Ukraine "signed neutral status" do you really think Putin would have stopped at that? You haven't done much reading on the guy. For such a fan of things Russian/Soviet, you don't seem to know much about how they do things. Fear, force, lies and blackmail are their rocks and history shows this. This is not to say that other countries don't do this - Russia and its predecessor have relied on it particularly heavily.

Vietnam war was easy for the us; carpet bombing villages, use actual chemical weapons, napalm bomb villages, then send US soldiers to rape the surviving women and children. Walk into some ambushes, more carpet bombings, rapes, ambush
"Easy"? We lost the Vietnam war. That's a remarkably "easy" loss you speak of. America invaded a country, not justifiably, and we lost a ton of people. And lost. I believe the number was around 58,000 and that doesn't count South Vietnamese and other allies. And that was from like 1965-1974. A decade almost. Ukranian losses today are certainly very high, and Russia has lost by conservative estimates around 18,000. The Ukranians are claiming almost 30,000 but I'm skeptical of that.

You only lose a few soldiers a day. A few more if you count suicide as well. And that’s it.

Do you have any clue how much Russian and Chinese hardware was handed over to North Vietnam? A very, very large amount. Operation Rolling Thunder's very objective was to bomb the hell out of all of this stuff coming south and destroy the supply lines. And it failed. How is it you are completely omitting this? You're asking me to be honest, it's you that are being dishonest. Or maybe you forgot that part in history class, I don't know.

The Vietnam War is a master class in how kills inflicted on the enemy, amount of ordinance you drop and technology do not by themselves win wars, especially when you're the aggressor. You're on their land and they hate you. This lesson was very bitterly learned. The Vietcong and future leaders of the NVA had years of practice on the French, very effective practice, and as a result they literally wrote the book on modern asymmetrical warfare. The Ukranians have their line units, but they're employing asymmetrical methods that largely do not exist in the Russian army.

My point isn't that Ukraine is winning, which they are. My point is that how does a supposed modern Army invade another country and completely, horrendously, shit the bed. They also had years to prepare, they're the ones that invaded and decided they were ready. I am more shocked than most, I didn't expect this. At some point around 30-45 days ago Russia exceeded their losses in their Afghanistan war, which lasted a decade. And most of those losses were incurred before the bulk of international military aid arrived.

Explain that. I have an idea why - western training since the early 90's. And a hierarchy that's not based on fear, false reporting to make yourself look good, complacency, and unwillingness to learn from your enemies.

Yesterday Putin referred to this war as "the special military operation in Donbas" instead of "the special military operation in Ukraine".

Russian propaganda. He's an Azov fighter, according to Russian telegrams he's been killed like a baker's dozen times. He's back here in the states, talked with him last night.

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread

It will play out, we will see what the future has to hold. But normally in *modern* warfare you put the good units in the spearhead. Maybe the Russians have a crystal ball that no one else seems to know about.
Sorry, but I think the Russian "Crystal Ball" is actually one of those "Magic 8 Balls" that tell you to "ask again later"

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread

Whisky I would love to go on but Kellyhound, likely a fellow American pussy coward has punished me with a point deduction

Kelly do and say what you like, my thoughts on you and your American cock suckers won’t change.

I thought this place was independent and neutral. Clearly not and as with all media the brainless Yankees took over.
I was wondering when that was going to happen

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread

I agree with you on everything Russia /Nato silver bullet, but my experience is that the board is pretty relaxed still, they might have a preference but it’s not that you get banned if you don’t agree with America. Please don’t leave this board you are one of the good guys lol. But anyway we need people to tell the truth
