Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
You've got to hand it to Putin. Not only did his army completely shit the bed, 2 more countries are joining NATO and one of them borders Russia. But remember, everything is "going to plan" |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
RUSSIAN OFFENSIVE CAMPAIGN ASSESSMENT, MAY 15 Now this one is a reader. I highly encourage reading this whole article. It's pretty clear things are changing gears significantly. https://www.understandingwar.org/bac...essment-may-15 - Russian forces have likely abandoned the objective of completing a large-scale encirclement of Ukrainian units from Donetsk City to Izyum in favor of completing the seizure of Luhansk Oblast.* - Russian forces have likely run out of combat-ready reservists, forcing the Russian military command to amalgamate soldiers from many different elements, including private military companies and proxy militias, into ostensibly regular army units and naval infantry.* - Russian forces are likely fortifying occupied settlements in southern Ukraine, indicating that the Russians are seeking to establish permanent control in the region.* Key Takeaways: • Russian forces will likely prioritize winning the Battle of Severodonetsk over reaching the administrative borders of Donetsk Oblast. • Russian forces did not advance in the Slovyansk direction due to unsuccessful offensive operations in the Izyum area. Ukrainian aviation continues to operate north and east of Izyum. • Russian forces continued to launch artillery, air, and naval assaults on the Azovstal Steel Plant, but Mariupol defenders maintained their positions. • Russian forces are fortifying occupied settlements along the southern axis, indicative of Russian objectives for permanent control of the area. • A Ukrainian counteroffensive around Izyum will likely begin soon. |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
Look Faust, the weird sucky thing about humans is we are prone to violence and don't all get along together well and it is necessary for now to put all the violent youth into an organization to protect us from other groups of people we don't care about as much's violent youth organizations. Now the tricky part is hopefully the people in charge of those youths are trustworthy and don't send them off and waste them. No matter what war, however well intentioned, the civilians die. Even the stupid American Revolution pisses me off because they glorify it, but really it was rich people getting poor people to do something for them. I really don't have a solution, I have an idea but unless more people think like me, which has it's problems, then this shit is gonna keep happening. I support the west in this conflict as I think we might actually end up in a hundred years or so, slightly more peaceful and happy than if Russia or China is running things.

I will, because here in the west I can buy 10 pounds of weed for $1000 and sit around all day with my dwindling vaccine stock money making hash in the garage and talking shit on the internet.

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
Lol, that is because of restrictions on selling rubles etc, causing an artifical exchange rate. Russia can't afford to turn off the gas, if so they would have done it before Europe had time to prepare a bit.
