Lets replace Nazi's with tribalism/fascism and it's just something all countries have to deal with. Approach the problem from a purely objective view with the primary end goal of ending the fighting before it wastes too much resources and increases the atmospheric combustion that is getting annoying over here.

So HIMARs taught the Rus to disperse ammo properly, and they did a good job. So of course it wasn't possible to take it in the not quite a full fledged rout (pity point) and now it's gonna come back down on them. Just thought that was special.

From that perspective, the current path is the most optimal?
If the tribalism/fascism made good on their promise they could start a civil war inside the country. Whereas currently it’s ‘Only’ a fight between armies, and civilians are only used as shields but are mostly collateral damage in small numbers. Nothing in comparison to human suffering should the tribalism/fascism have had their way.

Or would the best course of action be to let the civil war rage on as that would only be 100.000 killed over the next 80 years instead of 8 months. Even though it was mostly soldiers now

I don't have a solution yet. At some point though the soldiers need to not be these types that are happy to run off and get all hyped and killy. The whole RU army had the choice to stand down, but mob mentality and the desire to belong to a nation, pride, whatever, precluded that.

Your inexperience with these things is showing. I was an M1 Abrams tank platoon leader, then an operations officer whose sole job was logistics and operations planning at the battalion level. And after that when promoted to Captain, an XO for an armor and infantry Battalion. Maybe you didn't know that. Logistics and being prepared for things are monumentally important which is something you don't seem to know anything about.

The RU army could have watched some BBC reporting about fascists/nationalists in Ukraine, saw what they did to pro-Russia protesters and maybe had family living in the independent republics. The RU army also most certainly had intel on UKR planning to attack Crimea and finish off the independent republics.

I don’t feel like I belong to Germany, nor Poland. So should any of my people be waged war against in another country. I would not volunteer, I am not altruistic enough for that. Or maybe I am just a coward
