Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
Just now I spoke with the Azov fighter. He was okay with me speaking about this so long as I never mentioned his name. He states (I'm paraphrasing): - "It's over for us" (at the Azovstal steel plant) - "I'm going to die. And I'm okay with that." - They have less than 2,000 fighters there - Still lots of civilians with them - Russians have moved their armor from the area for some reason - Russians have surrounded the plant and are looking for the tunnels "Which isn't working for them". - Yesterday they were able to get some people out of the area, around 300 Russians were killed in the process - They have no idea how many other fighters/partisans are outside the Azovstal area. No communication. - They are weighing 3 or 4 options on what to do when the time comes. I will not discuss the options he mentioned. - "Yeah we've been using today to say bye to people, Or get last ditch nudes. So there is that. Top morale." High chance I won't be hearing from him anymore. We will see. |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
Man, I was laughing at the numbers. 300? Really? I call BS. Dude, to kill 300 soldiers in a city fight ? As an army man you understand how much effort, force and time you need, to accomplish this in one day. It’s not like they dropped a damn bomb on a football stadium in the middle of superball Also, losses Russia occurred during first 2 weeks or so were mainly because of bad understanding of political inviroment in Ukraine. They went too deep and fast, left their backs open without support. Didn’t hold the front line and so on. Once realized how fucked up they are, they pulled out forces from Kyev and reinforced Donbas, where it is easier to watch their back with support of locals. Now it is a different war. And if you don’t agree, well I guess it’s pointless to argue, time will show. |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
I'm just relaying to all here what I've been told. There have been skirmishes in Mariupol that have claimed more than 300 Russian lives, and there are a lot of dead Russians there. Along with Ukranians. Urban fighting will claim more lives more quickly because of the amount of places people can hide and in a moment's notice unleash hell at someone within close range. Russians are largely poorly trained and hampered by their inefficient command structure. The Ukrainian guys who are in Mariupol are mostly experienced fighters who have already been fighting since 2014. Not all that impossible to believe.
