Armchair fighter pilot time - I am increasingly concerned that if allied aviation tactics don't change to incorporate effective defense against MANPADS and their ilk, there will be a terrible loss of materiel and aircrew. Additionally, the proliferation of hand-held observation and light attack drones are changing the landscape of the battlefield. I would be flooding engagement areas with helper drones. If I was defending against drones, there needs to be one or two personnel per platoon expressly tasked with drone suppression. Maybe these countermeasures are already in the pipeline.

Actually Just a couple of days ago I read that there are special drone courses within LDNR militia. They had a graduation day or something. Training was very much close to battlefield, not just fly up/down. They teach them how to coordinate artillery , they put them on BTRs and tanks and so on.

Apparently they have been pissed off and preparing for war since 2005. And all the shelling since 2014 turned them into the best artillery units Russia has, especially with all the crowdsourced drones that have such high video quality even Faust thinks they are Ukrainian.
