Americans born on opposite sides - funny thing about my family. My mom of course is Latvian/Russian but she does have some old American roots. She's related to the Confederate General Stonewall Jackson, who commanded a civil war battle in which two of my Dad's union ancestors (Swiss German Americans) were wounded but survived. FYI: A few 100 years ago they used to burn "witches" at the stake in Europe. AFAIK Russia haven't burned anyone at the stake yet, so I guess that's another proof of their moral superiority over the West.

I guess the only point in history we cannot use when discussing Russia vs the West is 1930-45. The time when the people in Kremlin killed more people than their ally Hitler.
