Re: Nuclear Escalation Scenario II
I think it that was ‘real’ enough then bill gates would be looking into it, they would burn down more forests in poor countries or some other bill gates window level bullshit

Re: Nuclear Escalation Scenario II
The UK wouldn't really exist anymore. Every major city will be hit by at least one warhead, London would probably take multiple hits. The submarine bases in Scotland will be hit. The centres of fossil fuel production like Aberdeen will be hit, the early warning radar stations such as RAF Fylingdales will be hit (probably first), and given that many such military installations are deep underground for protection these will be getting ground burst strikes which is going to create horrendous fallout and jet black mushroom clouds instead of the lovely white ones. There might be a few caves left in Scotland that are habitable, but not much else. And this is not even considering that both sides might 'salt' their bombs with gold, cobalt, zinc and god knows what else to give massive gamma radiation effects to the weapons. So survivors would be expecting a grisly ARS death or a slow death from various types of cancer like thyroid and lung aswell as leukaemia. You would only need a few of those warheads to render a country like Germany or the UK uninhabitable. Sure I realize there isn't any precedent to calculate the damage from a modern nuclear war but current estimates don't even consider the extra damage that will come from every nuclear power station in the USA, Russia and Europe being hit by ground burst weapons. Look how much damage Chernobyl caused and all they did there was blow the fucking roof off. If the whole plant had gone up in smoke Europe would be fucked now. I'd put my money on humanity not surviving all out nuclear war. It has even been suggested by some scientists that this kind of event might explain the Fermi paradox - that biological civilizations tend to wipe themselves out when their technology advances to a similar type of level that we are approaching now. |
