I was there in 97, down in South Eastern area (Camp Sentry and Montieth then again 99-2000 (Task Force Hawk transitioning to Task Force ******). I was about 3 hours away from Camp Bondsteel, on Serbia border for 7 months. A lot more goes on there than people realize. Especially during the early years of During Operation Joint Guardian / Task Force Hawk. Things died down and became somewhat peaceful in 2001 going into 2002.

However, Kosovo has always had its flare ups, random sniper fire at NATO and other crap. The worst thought is the mass graves of dead. We found one in 99 and to my knowledge that’s the last one found.
