It looks like the new US admin will back a landgrab. Israel is about to prepare actions to annex all of Judea and Samaria (biblical referrance of the Westbank). There might be no lack of Palestinean martyrs, so they won't care about human losses. But losing land is something arabs understand.

Also: They didn't planned for an US administration which might be 100% pro Israel and 100% anti Iran.

I mean...Trump just tapped a staunch supporter of the whole settler movement as new ambassador in Israel. Trump himself already stated the very second he takes office he will lift all restrictions and sanctions (some Israeli individuals got sanctioned by US: Settler activists, anti-aid activists, ruthless IDF commanders etc.).

I hope Israel takes/keeps Gaza, West Bank, Golan UN Zone, and large portions of Southern Lebanon before this war is said and done. Israel should make it clear that if the host countries allow more offensive milfacs to be constructed, they can expect to forfeit more land. We have seen the militant Muslims assassinate, beat and torture Gov reps and non-hostile citizens into compliance, so I expect that Israeli invasions of foreign borderlands will need to resume again and again over time, in order to defend Israel from Muslim attacks.

This was the the grave mistake of all the past conflicts post 1967 (Six Days War). Israel fought defensive campaigns when attacked, but at the end these conflicts were always prematurely ended by pressure of the US, UN etc... It was never allowed for Israel to actually decisevely win one of these conflicts and just fking keep the conquered land.

The consequence was always a brief recovery phase and the next attack, the next and next. An endless cyclejerk. Lebanon War 1, Lebanon War 2, Lebanon War 3, Gaza 1, Gaza 2, Gaza 3.

Protective Edge, Cast Lead, Peace for Galilee, Accountability, Hot Winter, Iron Swords, Summer Camps, ... etc. etc. etc.

An endless list of campaigns with always the same 2 or 3 rogue factions. How the current one ends, remains to be seen. But tbfh, these permanent conflicts finally need a clear winner and a loser. The winner takes it all the the loser needs to fuck off. Otherwise I can't imagine a permanent peace. Freezing the conflict by UN pressure (or whatever) will just lead to the next desaster.

The Muslim combatants purposefully embed and fight from civilian zones, and wear civ clothes - versus a uniformed IDF force which has no option for winning except to target the embedded milops. Also, the accounting of the dead by the Muslims(=UN) are highly suspect, aside from outright lying, are counting dead fighters dressed in civ clothes as civ deaths.

The IDF has announced the death of Sgt. Ori Nisanovich, 21, of the Golani Brigade’s 13th Battalion, from Jerusalem.
