It was a diplomatic building that was part of the Iranian embassy and consulate complex. Israel and Iran were not at war and it was a direct Israeli attack on Iran.

A majority of UN representatives including Russia and China said Israel violated international law by attacking the Iranian consulate. Iran reacted and exercised its legal right.

It would be the equivalent of Russia blowing up American diplomatic buildings targeting Americans in Ukraine and then saying it's okay because they're at war with Ukraine.

Fun fact.
Both buildings, and more around, make up an Iranian diplomatic compound. The "precision" strike damaged thr consular section of thr embassy next to it and killed 2 Iranian generals and 7 revolutionary guards.

This is, whether on purpose or not, a direct attack on Iran.

Other source told that one member of Iraq's Popular Mobilisation Forces was killed and eight wounded in an explosion at its command post on the Kalso military base 50 km (30 miles) south of Baghdad.

The Popular Mobilization Forces is a paramilitary organization in Iraq that was formed in 2014 to fight against ISIS following a fatwa by Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani.

It initially comprised various armed forces and later integrated into the Iraqi state as an auxiliary force to the armed forces. The PMF has played a significant role in countering ISIS.

Tensions have escalated between the US and Iran-backed forces within the PMF, particularly under the umbrella of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq. This escalation follows more than 160 military attacks on US airbases in Iraq and Syria since October 7, 2023, with Iran-backed forces launching numerous attacks on US forces in the region.

In response, the United States has targeted facilities of the PMF that have resulted in casualties among PMF members, including prominent leaders such as Mushtaq Jawad Kazim al-Jawari (Abu Taqwa) of Harakat al-Nujaba, who was killed in a US airstrike in January.
