USA has explicitly stated they will not participate in any offensive operation. I don't think Israel expected a direct response from Iran and without US support they're in a bad position.

This is the first direct confrontation between Israel and Iran, I believe Israel expected them to continue using proxies in their long standing shadow war but that has changed. Iran isn't some disorganized Islamic militia.They have one of the most advanced missle programs in the world.

Israel lost international support in Gaza well before the Iranian strike, they attacked Iran first. Many countries such as China expressed support for the Iranian retaliation. Iran has already told Israel any response to their strike will be met with a hard, extensive, painful, and immediate response. Would love to see Bibi strike Iran directly so Iran can stop playing games. Israel couldn't defeat Hamas in over half a year. Good luck with Iran, all of its allies/proxies, and no US offensive support. Not to mention Russia and Iran also have a strategic alliance exchanging military technology and information frequently.

Israelis are VASTLY superior military strategists, not to mention technologically superior, compared to Iranians or any muslim country . When I watched the propaganda videos of Iran's Republican Guard and its soldiers marching with plenty of pomp and flags and red dress with big happy smiley faces, I had a flashback to that pic of Kamala Harris taking a selfie with some U.S. soldiers and they all had those same happy smiley faces... and I felt fear for one possible American future. The IDF says 14 soldiers were wounded in the Hezbollah drone and missile attack on Arab al-Aramshe earlier today.

Six troops were seriously wounded, two are listed in moderate condition, and another six are lightly hurt, the military says.

In all, 18 people were taken to Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya for treatment.

I'll keep this brief because discussion is frowned upon here but you seem to think Israel is some militaristic, expansionist country like Iraq under Saddam ready to pounce on weaker neighbors outside of a few jewish settlers taking up residence in disputed nearby territories that were annexed in wars years ago. I actually encourage this type of thinking among anti-Israel types because it keeps them off-balance and ignorant so the Israelis can better realize their successes
