Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Discussion Thread IV (2024)
This vid shows some Israeli soldiers scolding an Arab boy who was no doubt being groomed by his family and Arab culture to attack Israelis in another year or two. It is telling and sick to see the boy's mom hold her hands out in mock exasperation, "What did he do to lose his assault rifle shirt and receive a soft slap?" WTF OP, there was no frisking and there was no "attack" on the boy. These Israeli soldiers gave him what may be his first civics lesson. Every boy deserves the a proper education, no matter how brief. |

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Discussion Thread IV (2024)
A dear friend of mine was a US Peace Corps agent in Arab countries, helping to build infrastructure and schools. He saw school kids spark up and get enthusiastic during a math lesson. The interpreter told him that the Arab "teacher" was explaining multiplication this way: Teacher: "Two dead Jews times three dead Jews equals...let's hear it!" Class: "Six dead Jews!" (Cheering and smiles all around). After that, my friend got out of that gig as soon as he could. There was just no hope in that society of hate. That was 30 years ago. |

That's a rich take that relays on nothing but assumptions. It's literally two grown men bullying a kid and stripping him. Shirt has a gun? Are people not allowed to wear that? Which law prohibits it?

Is there some kind of irony In which the people who were abused long ago are now committing genocide? History always loves repeating

Word to Hezbollah: they're coming for you next once they finish with Hamas, thobebros. As I said elsewhere, this is good practice for the IDF to hunt and kill these illiterate arab terrorists like Hamas and Hezbollah to prepare for real wars. Israel has gotten soft since the days of 1973 when all the surrounding arab countries would launch their attacks (and lose of course) but this will toughen 'em up again |

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Discussion Thread IV (2024)
Hezbollah should not be compared with hamas, Israel made this mistake during the 2006 Lebanese war. To skip over the war quickly and get to the results: Hezbollah launched a raid in Northern Israel killing 7 soldiers and taking 2 prisoner as well as destroying a tank. Humiliated by this raid, the IDF launched an air campaign against Hezbollah with the goal of paralyzing the group once and for all thus neutralizing the threat they posed. Thus the 2006 Lebanon war began with the IDF bombing Lebanon and Hezbollah shooting rockets. Some IDF Generals believed that air power was all that was needed. Bomb Lebanon for 2–3 months and Hezbollah will collapse, this was not the case. Eventually the IDF folded and orders were sent down to begin an invasion of Lebanon. The IDF expected Hezbollah to be the stereotypical Arabs, living in tents shouting “Allahu ackbar” and with several goats around. They were shocked to find that Hezbollah did no such thing. The IDF had acquired a superiority complex assuming Arabs were braindead savages easily killed and brushed aside but this saw training even the capabilities of IDF units decline, the IDF was thus horrified to find that Hezbollah wasn’t a group of savages but a rather competent armed force. The Israeli goal to save their kidnapped soldiers failed, the Israeli air force failed, the rocket attacks continued until the ceasefire, and the ground assault failed to penetrate the Hezbollah defense ring. The only way to win against Hezbollah is to use a massive ground troop assault, which entails massive casualties on the Israeli side. |
