Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Discussion Thread II (2023)
I think most ppl accepted that its not possible to take out Hamas without collateral losses among civilians. Its super sad. But co-existence with Hamas is not possible anymore, after so many got killed and abducted out of the blue. Also completly undifferentiated, alot tourists, internationals, foreign workers, which aren't even jewish. After yesterdays speech from Mr Nasrallah (Hisbullah), its also evident that there won't be any outside intervention to somehow relieve the Hamas in Gaza. He clearly stated that its just a fight of Palestinians alone and that he keeps the Hisbullah out of it. The other arab states as well. Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates...all of them want to see the Hamas fall (its an iranian proxy, after all). Ofc just in secret, they wouldn't say it openly. That pretty much sealed the deal. On a strategic level Gaza is already lost for the Palestinians. The only open question is how long it takes on a tactical level. Palestinans were probably fooled by Iran and Russia to wage this mass onslaught with promisses to support them. But there won't be any support, they're alone. |

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Discussion Thread II (2023)
That's a total different situation as there would be no need to do that being on Iraeli territory so they can surrender such building without thousands of Palestinians around and depends on if there are hostage takers or not plus Hamas would be in the minority and there would be no underground tunnels etc. By leveling buildings in Gaza is also risky as they don't know if there are hostages or not. Netanyahu is under a lot of pressure to retaliate to what Hamas did. I don't like him for his plan to overhaul Israel's justice system plus he didn't step aside when indicted on 3 felony corruption cases as his predecessors Yitzhak Rabin and Ehud Olmert had done when they were under investigation. |

I addition to the above I don't like his support for increased West Bank Israeli settlements. His plan to overhaul the justice system really weakens the judiciary. |

Nope. Come on. It's a rude phrase used to emphasize that you do not believe or accept what someone has said. Benji said it. What? Is there a comma missing or something? |
