What we know is...

My current reconstruction:

Shani runs, terrified, to the cars. Again, the only comfort I can get here is by knowing that it's MOST LIKELY she was shot while running to freedom, and that's where her time stopped. She never felt the pain of the bullet, trauma of rape, humiliation. She was just running, admittedly in terror, and then she just vanished... or depending your spiritual beliefs, her soul may have ejected from her body.
