Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Discussion Thread I (2023)

Egypt don't want them. Lebanon don't want them. Nobody wants them. Flatten Gaza.
The Egyptians have apparently tried to sabotage the cross border tunnels into Sinai Peninsula before any of this had happened.

Hezbollah seems to be in control of an otherwise weak and ineffectual military (perhaps central government as well) in Lebenon. Given that Hezbolla is a Shiite reactionary organization, I cannot conceptualize a scenario where they would want to provide aid to the mostly Sunni Palestinians. Then again there is so much sectarianism with Islamic radicals that I am far from being an expert in this field.

What is interesting to me is that the West Bank seems to be mostly silent right now. Perhaps this is because the Palestinian Authority and Hamas are bitter political rivals? Has there been any statements from the upper echelons of the PA with respect to what is going on right now?

I was 25 years old when 9/11 happened and I got caught up in the drum beating rhetoric most Americans felt at that time. What ended up happening was that when one side labels themselves as the good guys, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy to commit acts of dehumanization and that is exactly what happened in our failed attempts to establish pro western establishments in Afghanistan and Iraq, neither place is better off now than before the wars that took place there. The same dictatorship is back in control in one country and lawlessness prevails in the other.

What concerns me here is that Gaza will only end up becoming even more radicalized or if it ends up in control of IDF boots on the ground, then Isreal will have to deal with an out of control insurgency, suffering more far more deaths than the current phase of this war and far more terrorist attacks well beyond the borders of the autonomous Palestinian regions of Isreal.

My point is this...while it is completely logical for Isreal to retaliate with her military might, the end result will likely not make Isreal any safer than it is now and the cycle of violence will continue unabated in a country (Israel) that has long deserved a peaceful existence.

I don't know what the solution is, I just know that a military response has and will negative consequences for Isreal if not in the short term, certainly the in the long term.

Insightful assessment.

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Discussion Thread I (2023)

There's a lot of comments mucking up this thread arguing about morals and ethics in war.

We glassed up to 226,000 civilians in Japan in WW2. Relax.

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Discussion Thread I (2023)

Since most people in here are rooting nuking/wiping all of palestinians

It seems only fair that I share my opinion aswell

I enjoyed hamas invading the nazi jewish that stole the land
and especially all the videos of the dead IDF soldiers, they got what they deserve

rip to the civilian casualties though but shit happens what can I say

hopefully we see more attacks from hezbollah in one corner, syria in another corner, and gaza in the south

And fuck it how about we also throw taliban into the mix

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Discussion Thread I (2023)

you see innocent girls being killed all the time on DR, why are you so traumatized by this one?
Its probably because she was so attractive, when you see a very well built/sexy woman get killed it feels like such a waste, youll never get to plow it. Thats how those guys who hyper focus on girls killed like that think.
