I don't get the editing out all of the gore. I truly don't understand what the reasoning is for that. I've also asked this myself and came up with three theories but note that none of the three were verified and may even contradict each other, they're just theories ;)

1) A twisted religious idea of "nakedness". Maybe they wont show the real gore because Mohammed told them not to make pictures of - in a twisted meaning - "bare" bodies?

2) Our imagination: it can be even more frightening to not see the actual gore but your brain would do its usual work and fill the gaps? This way, the djihadists will always look like some "lifted" creatures, completely detached. Violence is happening, but you won't actually "see" it.

3) Maybe they ensure a greater distribution of the videos. There might be sites on the internet, that would no show a close-up beheading but would show these "subtile" videos. I am not a user of Facebook but what I definitely know is that some ISIS-Videos that show actual killings are available on u-tube and you have to declare that you watch them at your on discretion. You won't find these videos under the recommendations on the right but they are NOT removed.
