Your opening statement about how Islam isn't a biblical religion because "It is a religion made up by mohamed who lived several centuries after all Biblical events had already taken place" seemed silly. The person you replied to obviously knew that.

And yes, you followed that up with a smug remark to the other poster about how it's a good idea to know what you're talking about. It read condescending as fuck to me, anyway. That was my only real issue.

Obviously the discussion you guys had hinges on the definition of "biblical religion", and you both hashed that out pretty well. I would personally consider Islam to be a "biblical religion".

The thing is that your first post appeared to be implying that Islam was worse in this regard than other religions, thus Philovan's pointing to Leviticus seemed pretty valid in refuting this point.

For the record I think that Philovan's point about the irrelevance of Leviticus being "given" to the Israelites was flawed. The teachings of Muhammad clearly state that the teachings of previous prophets were only applicable to their time and therefore do not need to be adhered to to the letter (or more importantly, that the teachings of Muhammad override them).

Strangely, the teachings of Muhammad are apparently applicable for the following 1400+ years.
