Do rpg’s work like fragmentation grenades or like concussion grenades?

Frag grenade - think pineapple grenade(good in open spaces) The “explosion” wasn’t deadly, but the fragments were.

Concussion grenade - think of German pipe grenades. They worked best inside because they would over-pressurize the room and then quickly depressurize. Causing whip lash, walls/ceiling to collapse, launching you off your feet.

An English army soldiers saved the life of his squad by jumping on 2 grenades with this backpack(he suffered a lot of fragment wounds, but no permanent damage). If those were concussion grenades they would have launched him.

Depends on the type of rocket used. Rounds designed to defeat armor have some explosive which is used to create the molten copper penetrator. Technically it will create some fragmentation and be deadly to anyone close enough. If they were properly equipped with the right ammo, they would have the 40mm fragmentation round which is designed for use against infantry on foot,cover or unarmored vehicles. They also have different types of thermobaric warheads that are even more effective against soldiers on foot and in cover/buildings by dispersing a large cloud of fuel before igniting it creating a huge blast that produces intense blast waves and heat.

It's a fv101 scorpion which are in use by Nigeria, Botswana,Togo and Tanzania. So it was likely captured by bolo Haram in Nigeria.

The explosive force in an RPG grenade is used to create an explosive formed penetrator and the explosive force pushes forward with a reaction force pushing backwards, hence the bodies of the victims do not show extreme body disruption , a hand grenade would cause greater tissue disruption than what we see here.

The guy in the red T-shirt in the second video must have a burned out hole from the molten copper penetrator going through his torso.

There's 1.6 pounds of explosives in that rpg, pretty sure enough to turn a person into pieces
