Meanwhile the victims were identified, they belong to 3 large families:

1. A family of shia muslims, who recently converted from sunni islam.
2. A family of alewi's.
3. The family of a pro-Assad parlamentarian who works in Damascus.

I guess it is extremly unlikely Assad kills his own supporters. Shia muslims and Alewis are all supporters of Assad, cause they know what will happen if the islamist sunnies take over the country.
