They were either two different type of missiles or Milan also have selectable attack flight paths like Javelin (direct and top)

Perhaps you are unaware of this, but the French have been fighting a "low intensity" war in West Africa for the better part of a decade now, ever since they essentially unilaterally decided on regime change in Libya in 2011 and set about a series of events that resulted in dumbass jihadis pouring into the Sahel. In 2012, said dumbass jihadis took over much of Northern Mali, and the Malian government asked the French for help. The resulting French action, Operation Serval, begin in January of 2013 killed 1,000 of those same dumbass jihadis and they splintered and ran off in 40 different directions and regrouped and got reinforcements and split and regrouped and split, and on and on, and today there are groups calling themselves all sorts of stupid things causing problems in the region. Operation Serval is the main reason France started facing horrific terror attacks. To their credit, they have met the threat head on, and continue operations. |
