Combat Cams Reveal How Islamists Temporarily Broke Aleppo Siege

Ahrar al-Sham, Syria's largest rebel group, has released a short documentary of young male combatants being squandered into battle during an Islamist offensive which briefly broke the siege of rebel-held Aleppo, but also led to the death of over 1,000 rebel fighters from late July through August.

While advancing through village after village at the thinnest point of the Syrian Arab Army's (SAA) defensive line in southern Aleppo, the footage also reveals Islamist fighters under constant air raids and SAA bombardment.

However, SAA soldiers are seen withdrawing from a number of outposts after coming under powerful Islamist attacks. The short documentary is dubbed "The Winds of Rage".

The 10-min video is graphic and shows both dead SAA soldiers and severely injured Islamist fighters.
