Battle of the Nasiriya Bridges, Iraq 2004
From April 6th to August 6th 2004 multiple battles took place between Italian troops and the Mahdi Army. The battle was for control over three bridges which offered crossing over the Euphrates river. In the end only 11 Bersagliere (marksmen in the Italian Army's infantry corps) were reported injured. Iraqi loses were reported around 200 with around 200 wounded as well. |
