The video is recorded from a camcorder sitting back from the action as well as a body-worn action camera. The insurgents can be seen operating both inside and outside of the base’s outer perimeter of concertina wire.

The militants attack the military transport truck with small arms and rocket propelled grenades. The vehicle is immediately disabled, and as the insurgents approach, it appears the soldiers were killed as they attempted to dismount and escape from the passenger side of the vehicle.

The cameraman fires wildly with friendlies standing near to his target as well as on the other side. Luckily for his buddies, they are not hit.

Ok. I guess they achieved what they set out to do. But I mean, that looked to me to be just about the most undisciplined ambush ever. How none of their own were killed by friendly fire is a small miracle. I would wager most of those guys are dead themselves by now if they carry on operating in that fashion

In complete these dumpasses are killing only 10% soldiers.. the rest were civilians...

Pretty sure the cameraman was hearing his own gunfire echo and returning fire or
he heard a friendly shoot and he must shoot. Its like who can get the last shot in.
