A former Al-Shabab member who did not want to be named for security reasons said the group’s plan is to erect their black flag inside Ethiopia, and then release a prepared statement declaring that “jihad spread to a new front” in the Horn of Africa.


i guess crossing the border into somalia is part of that plan and/or in somalia it's easier to conquer and destroy?

Good question. I grabbed the video before the telegram channel was shut down. There was not explanation of the attack.

First off, good post.
Somalia has been war torn for many decades, with the spread of good ol radicalized religion, it's easy to take a destitute and fallen region that is already known for ruthless peoples to recruit by assimilation or annihation.
