Re: 1 Tow a Day Keeps Assad's Regime Away
Helped Egypt give Israel a bloody nose in Battle of Sinai, forced them to change tactics and fortunately for the jews the egyptians had the dumb idea of advancing from their perfect defensive positions to their doom. Its TOWs and missiles in general that have reduced tanks to infantry support roles these days no more massive mechanized advances.

Re: 1 Tow a Day Keeps Assad's Regime Away
The ATGM's used in the 1973 "Yom Kippur War" were Soviet designed 'Sagger' missles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9M14_Malyutka Yep. Things have definitely changed. The Egyptians kept the Soviet provided SAM 'umbrella' and ATGM 'shield' secret from everyone prior to the 1973 war against Israel which was a smart thing to do. The Israeli's continue to tout the virtues of their Merkava tanks. I have often wondered, though, how many ATGM's the Israelis have. |
