Unmanned Sailboat Prompts Coast Guard Search Near Navy Pier
An 18-foot white sailing vessel was found disabled and unmanned, adrift on Lake Michigan near Navy Pier in Chicago on Aug. 4, 2025. The vessel triggered a series of Coast Guard search and rescue efforts. The Coast Guard also pointed to the case as a reminder for owners and operators to label watercraft gear and equipment. The search and rescue efforts yielded no results.  ·
