Station Galveston Tows Disabled Sailboat Ashore
Coast Guard Station Galveston assisted two boaters aboard a disabled 50-foot sailing vessel near Galveston, Texas, on May 25, 2022. The Coast Guard received a VHF-FM channel 16 call at 3 a.m. from the vessel's operator, who reported the sailboat's mast was damaged and its engines were malfunctioning 30 miles offshore. A Station Galveston crew aboard a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium towed the sailboat ashore and inspected its safety gear for compliance with all laws and regulations.  ·  ·  ·  ·
