Munro Medevacs Injured Crewman Off Lima, Peru

A U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Munro (WMSL-755) Over the Horizon cutter boat crew medevaced an injured 37-year-old male crewmember from the fishing vessel "Tiburon 9" on Friday, May 3, 2024.

The vessel had reported that the crewmember suffered a head injury and needed medical assistance about 90 miles offshore of Lima, Peru.

Coast Guard crew members provided medical assistance aboard Munro, then transferred the injured crewmember to awaiting emergency medical services in Paracus, Peru. The cutter boat crew was escorted by a Peruvian Coast Guard Patrol Craft en route to Paracus.
