Mariner Rescued from Capsized Vessel Near Columbia River Bar
A Coast Guard rescue swimmer assigned to Coast Guard Air Station North Bend, Oregon, rescued a mariner after the mariner's vessel capsized near Astoria, Oregon, on Feb. 3, 2023. An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew with the Advanced Helicopter Rescue School at Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile, Alabama, and three motor lifeboat crews with the Coast Guard National Motor Lifeboat School and Coast Guard Station Cape Disappointment in Ilwaco, Washington, participated in the rescue.
