Kimball Seizes 2,280 Kg of Cocaine in Eastern Pacific
U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Kimball (WMSL 756) interdicted a suspected drug smuggling vessel during law enforcement operations in the Eastern Pacific Ocean on April 17, 2025. Boarding team members from Kimball and Tactical Law Enforcement Team South used a 26-foot over the horizon small boat during the operation. The crew transferred 68 bales of cocaine, weighing approximately 2,280 kilograms, from the interdicted vessel. Kimball crewmembers also used a 35-foot Long-Range Interceptor II during processing. Maritime Safety and Security Team Los Angeles/Long Beach personnel were involved after the interdiction, and a Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron Jacksonville MH-65 Dolphin helicopter was prepared for law enforcement operations.
