Five Rescued After Boat Hits Barge Near Galveston
The Coast Guard and good Samaritans rescued five people after an 18-foot pleasure craft collided with a barge and capsized east of the Galveston Causeway on July 4, 2023. All five people aboard were injured and thrown into the water. A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Houston hoisted a man with a head injury and a woman with a broken leg.
