Dredge W.B. Wood Capsizes Near Meraux, Fuel Boom Deployed
The dredge W.B. Wood capsized on the Mississippi River near Meraux, Louisiana, on Jan. 16, 2023. A total of 940 feet of boom was placed around the capsized vessel to contain its fuel discharge. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans Incident Management Division is overseeing the pollution response and coordinating with Wood Resources, LLC on plans to salvage the capsized vessel.  ·  ·
