Deckhand Medevaced After Ferry Loses Propulsion Near Galveston

On Dec. 1, 2022, a Coast Guard Station Galveston boat crew medevaced a ferry deckhand at the entrance to Galveston Channel.

The deckhand had been struck in the face by the ferry's anchor chain after the vessel lost propulsion. A 45-foot Response Boat-Medium was back at the pier at Coast Guard Station Galveston after the medevac.
