Cutter Joseph Napier Rescues 104 from Mona Island
Coast Guard Cutter Joseph Napier crewmembers prepared to embark a group of 64 Haitians on Oct. 19, 2022, after they were abandoned by smugglers on Mona Island, Puerto Rico. The cutter crew completed a two-day operation on Oct. 20, rescuing 102 Haitians and 2 Dominican Republic nationals from Mona Island. The group was transported to Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, where U.S. Border Patrol agents took custody.  ·  ·  ·
