Cutter Joseph Doyle Tows Watoosh Toward Puerto Rico
Coast Guard Cutter Joseph Doyle assisted two U.S. boaters aboard the 40-foot sailing vessel Watoosh after it was beset by weather in the Caribbean Sea about 150 nautical miles south of Ponce, Puerto Rico, on Dec. 6, 2022. The cutter towed Watoosh for two days in eight to 10-foot seas, reaching waters just off Salinas, Puerto Rico. On Dec. 8, the tow was transferred to the 29-foot Glacier Bay vessel Coy de Mar, which brought Watoosh to safe harbor.
