Couple, Dog and Cat Taken Off Disabled Vessel Near Cape Hatteras
Two people, their dog, and their cat were rescued Dec. 30, 2025, near Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. They were underway when their sailboat became disabled. The boaters activated their emergency positioning indicator radio beacon to signal they needed assistance. An MH-60 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City carried out the rescue.
