Coast Guard Rescues Stranded Hiker at Mussel Rock Beach
The Coast Guard rescued a stranded hiker from rocks at Mussel Rock Beach on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023. A Coast Guard Sector San Francisco search and rescue mission coordinator said the rescue was successful because the hiker was able to contact first responders. The Coast Guard urged people exploring the Northern California coastline to plan ahead, wear appropriate clothing and footwear, stay hydrated, tell friends or family their plan, and have a reliable way to reach first responders.
