Coast Guard Rescues 9 Near St. George Island, Alaska
A Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew rescued 9 commercial fishing vessel crewmembers from a grounded fishing vessel near St. George Island, Alaska, on Jan. 5, 2026. The aircrew was from Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak and Forward Operating Site Cold Bay. The crewmembers were transferred to emergency medical services in St. Paul with no reported injuries.
