Coast Guard Medevacs Woman from Grand Princess Off Oahu
An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point medevaced a 29-year-old woman from the cruise ship Grand Princess on Nov. 5, 2024. Joint Rescue Coordination Center Honolulu watchstanders received a call from personnel aboard the ship requesting a medevac for the woman, who was experiencing symptoms of appendicitis approximately 570 miles northeast of Kauai. The helicopter crew hoisted her approximately 70 miles offshore Kaneohe, Hawaii, and landed at The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu.
