Coast Guard Medevacs Unconscious Man from Bird Island Basin
Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi watchstanders received a call at 1:52 p.m. on April 30 from wade fishermen on Padre Island National Seashore. They reported finding an unconscious 50-to-60-year-old man lying on the ground in Bird Island Basin, south of Corpus Christi, Texas. An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi medevaced the man. Good Samaritans helped carry him, and emergency medical services personnel transferred him from the helicopter at the air station.  ·  ·
