Coast Guard Medevacs Mariner Near Cold Bay
A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew, forward-deployed to Cold Bay, medically evacuated a 57-year-old mariner from the fishing vessel Golden Alaska near Cold Bay, Alaska, on June 14, 2022. At about 3 p.m., 17th Coast Guard District Command Center watchstanders received a request for assistance from the vessel's crew. They reported the man had previously lost consciousness and was in an altered mental state. The aircrew launched from Cold Bay, arrived on scene, and safely transported him to Anchorage, where awaiting Emergency Medical Service personnel took him for a higher level of care.  ·  ·  ·
