Coast Guard Medevacs Injured Sailboat Operator Near Sapelo Sound
On May 8, a Coast Guard Station Brunswick boat crew responded to an aground 36-foot sailboat near Sapelo Sound, Georgia, after the operator sustained a severe injury to the hand. A Coast Guard Air Station Savannah helicopter crew worked with Station Brunswick to hoist the operator for a medevac. The operator was safely transported to Savannah Memorial Hospital.
