Coast Guard Medevacs Celebrity Apex Passenger Off Puerto Rico
A Coast Guard Air Station Borinquen MH-60T Jayhawk aircrew medically evacuated a passenger from the cruise ship Celebrity Apex about 120 nautical miles northwest of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, on Dec. 2, 2024. The patient was a 64-year-old U.S. citizen woman experiencing a medical emergency. She was flown with her husband and the ship's nurse to San Juan for a higher level of care. Emergency Medical Service personnel then transported her to a local hospital.
