Coast Guard Hoists Kite Surfer Off Bird Island, Texas
A Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew rescued a distressed kite surfer off Bird Island near Port Mansfield, Texas, on July 15, 2023. The kite surfer was beset by weather and was located and hoisted by the crew. On-scene conditions were 2-foot seas and 17 mph winds.
