Coast Guard Hoists 2 and Cat Off Freeport Sailboat
A Coast Guard Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew rescued two boaters and a cat from a disabled 38-foot sailboat about 30 miles off Freeport, Texas, on March 13, 2023. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston command center watchstanders received a VHF-FM channel 16 call from the sailboat operator reporting that the vessel was disabled and dragging anchor. The two boaters and the cat were hoisted from the sailboat and safely transported to Air Station Houston.
