Coast Guard Assists 3 Overdue Boaters Off South Padre Island
Family members reported three boaters overdue at 10 p.m. April 28, 2023, after they did not return from a trip to the offshore Perdido Rig. On April 29, a 33-foot Special Purpose Craft-Law Enforcement crew from Coast Guard Station South Padre Island reached the 31-foot catamaran about 30 miles northeast of South Padre Island, Texas. The catamaran was taking on water with the three men aboard. The Coast Guard crew assisted the boaters and later conferred with them aboard the catamaran at Sea Ranch Marina on South Padre Island.  ·  ·  ·
