Catamaran Taking on Water Near Georgetown After Jetty Strike
Four people were aboard a 52-foot catamaran that struck the Winyah Bay northern jetty and began taking on water near Georgetown, South Carolina, on Aug. 23, 2023. The vessel's bilge pump was able to keep up with the flooding. A Coast Guard Station Georgetown boat crew escorted the vessel to safer waters until commercial salvage relieved them.  ·  ·
